My name is William Hooks. My mother Norma Hooks formerly Haire, daughter of William and Doris Quinn grew up in Great Bridge and graduated from Great bridge highschool in 1968. She passed a few days ago. I know she would have wanted me to reach out to this page/website as she'd connected with some classmates, but I don't know who they are. She's the sister of another graduate Cindy Quinn (Old) Chappell and also the grandmother of two graduates Jenna and Courtney Hooks (my daughters). Many other family members graduated from there.

I have found a woman’s Charm bracelet that includes a class ring charm for Great Bridge High School.
It has over 30 charms representing a young woman’s high school years and young adult life. This style
of charm bracelet was popular mid 50’s through mid 60’s.
I’ve built a profile of the student who owned this. This could be you, your high school friend, sweetheart
or perhaps your mother.
-Enjoyed ballet, played the piano, perhaps was a cheerleader, played basketball, owned a poodle. At some
point was a member of the Lions Club. Traveled to several key states for vacation. And possibly had at
least one child, a son named Mike.-

My name is Craig Blackman, and I have taught in the Chesapeake School sydtem for 34 years. I taught at Great Bridge in 1986 and assisted Wayne Martin in that same year. I recently completed a book entitled The Long Journy Home: The Untold Story of Forgotten Soldiers about 25 men killed in Vietnam from Chesapeake. Some of those individuals attended Great Bridge High School - Tommy jenkins and Ray Meekins and others. I think your group may be interested in the stories. My name is Tom Brooks. I lived in Farmville, Va. in the 1960’s. I dated a girl by the name of Judy Rice who was from Great Bridge, Va. (or maybe it was Deep Creek). I am organizing an alumni football game again this year. Last year we had approx. 50 players and 20 cheerleaders from all years participate.
We are asking all player and cheerleader alumni to come out for a great event. All proceeds benefit GB football team. Saturday, November 4th at 6:00 pm at Colon L Hall Stadium. If interested in playing or cheering the fee is $30 and includes your game t-shirt.

I have an unusual request. When I moved into my house 31 years ago there was a silver bowl left in the house that was a gift to a
Coach Ridings from the athletes of G.B.H.S. from 1946-1955. I have kept this bowl all these years in case the family ever came
back to see the house but nobody ever came back. Is there anyway that you or your alumni could share history about this coach or

Hello Bryan! I am a current student at Great Bridge High and i was wondering if I could get a hold of an alumni from the mid to late 90's. I am looking for a
drumline member who marched tenors. We need to find and play the original cadence, but Mr. Carroll does not have it. I figured this would be the best website to get in
contact with someone like that! Thanks for your efforts in putting together this website!
I have a question that I want to keep anonymous. We have a classmate from the class of 79 that is need of our help. This person is fighting cancer and the state
has dropped their medical insurance. Their spouse lost their job taking this person back and forth for treatments, so they no longer have insurance. They have a child
together that is rather young and living at home. One has two other children that they have to pay child support for. I was looking for ways for our great school to have
a fundraiser for this person and help them out. They had to postpone having a scan to see where the cancer stands now because it costs over $7000 just for the scan.
That does not include the chemo and radiation. Great Bridge High School has always been a tight knit community. Do you have any suggestions on where I can go to find
some relief for her and her family? There is a 2 year wait on Medicare and this person cannot afford to wait 2 years.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
LOST: I saw a post about a ring found at the beach. A few years ago my house was broken into while I was in the hospital.
My rings were stolen including my 1994 ring. I know this is a long shot but mine was gold, with black onyx, initials wda, football logo on the side with the

FOUND: I had a class ring from 1975 turned into me at the Sheriff's Office a while back. I Have spoke top everyone that I know who
has the last name of "Sykes" and have not gotten any information on it. It has the name "Jerry Sykes" inscribed on the inside. He was in the class of 1975. If you could

FOUND: Hi Bryan my name is Tara and about 5 years ago my uncle was at Va Beach and he found a class ring. It had been
run over by a car and crushed but he took it to a jewlers and got it fixed. We would really like to find out whom it belongs to and return it. Can you please
